Weekly Update for 1/7

 Good Evening All,

Instead of writing the update on the blog for you to check, I have decided to give a brief update through email, and add resources to the blog each week.

Highlights from the Principal's update...

Wednesday is KINDNESS spirit day.
  • Wear something that shows or expresses kindness. Perhaps it's a shirt with an encouraging statement or even a smiley face.

It's Snow Time!
  • I know that kids are excited to play in the snow, so please remind them of the following rules:

    • In order to play in the snow, they must have snow pants/snowsuits, gloves, hat and boots.

    • Students may not pick up and throw snow

    • The structure is closed at this time

    • Making snowmen is encouraged!

    • Students need to make sure that the floor of the coatroom is clear of clutter (Those handy snowbags you got for Christmas would work GREAT for this).

January 17th is a NO SCHOOL day to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

A Note from the Nurse...

Mrs. Kennedy is extremely overwhelmed with the spike in COVID numbers. To help her,
1. Please keep your child home if they are sick.
2. If you have medical questions you will need to contact your pediatrician.
3. Please update the main office with reasons for absences. It saves Mrs. Kennedy a bit of time!

Here is the nurses blog with the new COVID guidelines from the Department of Education. This might answer questions that you have.

Reminders:
*Please pack more than you think your child will eat for a snack! We have several kiddos saying that they are still hungry when they finish eating what was packed for them. Thanks to your donations at the beginning of the year, we have been able to give out Goldfish to those that need it.

*If you do not yet have headphones at school for your child PLEASE send them in. It is very hard for some classmates to concentrate when they can hear the directions from computers around them.

Volunteers:
I have not forgotten about you! I will be sending a google form out this week with volunteering times/roles and CORI confirmations.
